Earlier this week, Paytm announced that it is bringing the BHIM UPI payments support to its app. The company also said that users will be able to create their UPI IDs from within the app itself. The digital payments company said that the feature is currently being tested in beta inside the Android app. Apple iOS version of the app will get BHIM UPI support soon.This an excellent thing for their fans, which means that they can experience the new feature of Paytm App in the near future. Moreover, this new feature will certainly bring new changes to our lives. It can not exactly know what this change is for now, but the time will tell.
Here's step-by-step guide of how the new payment feature works
Step 1: Open the Paytm app and tap on the new 'BHIM UPI' option at the top carousel seen besides the options such as Pay, Lifafa, KYC and others.
Step 2: Tap on the feature and select the Bank account you want to proceed with.
Step 3: Wait for your bank to verify the mobile number linked with the Paytm account.
Step 4: Once verified, set your M-PIN and get going with your transactions.
According to Paytm, that BHIM UPI ID will be the user's mobile-number@paytm by default. It can be changed later and can be linked to multiple accounts. They get the ability to link the ID with any other their Savings bank account. Post linking they can begin transactions across different banks and BHIM UPI apps.
The company further added that with this new feature users won't have to wait to add the beneficiary or put in the IFSC code to receive money. The Paytm merchants can also link their multiple existing bank accounts with Paytm BHIM UPI ID to accept money.
It is worth adding that users get the limit of sending up to Rs 1 lakh per day using BHIM UPI ID, according to National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) guidelines. There is no limit imposed on receiving the amount of money.
When changing from an old device to a new one, users won't be able to switch their devices and continue using the same feature.
