Piano (ital. Pianino, literally: small piano) is a string-keyboard musical instrument with a percussion (hammer) method of sound extraction, created specifically for indoor music playing in small rooms. The piano is a smaller type of piano in which the strings, the deck and the mechanical part are arranged vertically rather than horizontally, as a result of which the piano takes up much less space than a grand piano.
