MITRA is an android “off-line GSM / CDMA based mobile” application to ensure SAFETY OF EVERYONE with special attention to “Children, Women and Old Aged” in times of distress. It is like an SOS customized especially for the Puducherry Region.
Here downloading of apps and its registration requires online.
The advantage of this application compared to other similar applications for women’s safety is its simplicity of usage.
The main goal of MITRA is to enable person in danger to send an SMS without even the knowledge of the person causing the problem. Hence the power button was chosen for auto launching the application. The application gets launched automatically and sends your location and nearest Police Station details as SMS to your friends and relatives seeking immediate help. Not only that even if you are on the move, MITRA will automatically updates your location through GPS after every 5 or 10 minutes or as you programme in settings.
