Opis CALIOPE: Air Quality

CALIOPE provides 24-hour Air Quality forecast over Spain for the main air pollutants: ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5).
The application uses your mobile device's geolocation service to show the Air Quality forecast for the nearest stations by using five categories: good, acceptable, poor, bad and very bad.
CALIOPE is aimed at anyone interested in the state of Air Quality, either because they are susceptible to cardiac diseases, have young children, make outdoor sports or because they simply are concerned about the air they breathe.
The information provided by CALIOPE is part of the daily forecast generated by the System Forecast Air Quality CALIOPE (www.bsc.es/caliope), which is executed in the MareNostrum III Supercomputer at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center - National Center for Supercomputing.
