Whatup uses your current GPS location at the moment you query for events to see if there are any public events around you. Events can be pulled in at ranges of 5, 10, or 20 miles. They can also be filtered down by category to bring down the number of events displayed.
If you are within 2 miles of an event you can post a shout into it for everyone else within that range to see.
When you make an event of your own, invite your friends and get a private chat to discuss details.
If the event plans change (say location, or time) everyone that was invited to the event will receive a notification so that they're aware of the changes.
Every time you open up the app you'll be able to see a list of friends that use the app and the current status they've set.

WhatUp ist der Partyguide, mit dem du alle angesagten Veranstaltungen und Locations in der Umgebung auf dem Schirm hast. Ob Tanzen und Feiern, ein Treffen in einer Bar oder Chillen bei einer Shisha, mit dem Partyguide-WhatUp ist das endlich möglich. Und in der Umgebung bedeutet in deinem Umfeld, egal wo du dich gerade befindest.
-Übersichtliche Map im Partyguide-WhatUp
Wenn dein Standort aktiviert ist und du WhatUp öffnest, wird dir als erstes auf einer Karte dein Standort und alle Clubs, Discos, Bars und Shisha-Lounges in deiner Umgebung übersichtlich mit entsprechenden Symbolen angezeigt. Wenn du das gewünschte Symbol antippst, erhältst du alle Informationen zu der jeweiligen Location. Neben der Adresse bekommst du hier Infos zu den Öffnungszeiten, der Musikrichtung und kommenden Events.
-Spots als gezielte Suchoption im Partyguide-WhatUp
Über die Option „Spots“
kannst du auch gezielt nach Locations und Veranstaltungen suchen. Das ist besonders praktisch, wenn du beispielsweise einen Trip in eine andere Stadt planst und wissen willst, wo du dort Weggehen und Feiern kannst. Hier hast du auch die Möglichkeit, deine Suche einzugrenzen und gezielt nur Discos (Clubs) oder nur Bars oder nur Shisha-Lounges suchen. Auch die Musikrichtung kannst du in einem Suchfilter eingrenzen (Mainstream, Charts, Hip Hop, Black, Electric, House,…). Oder du lässt dir einfach das gesamte Angebot geben und checkst, was dich für den Abend interessiert.
-Favoriten im Partyguide-WhatUp
Für dich interessante Locations kannst du dir mit einem einfachen Klick als Favorit speichern und hast sie immer verfügbar. Und wenn sich dein Standort mal ändert, kannst du die Favoriten auch ganz einfach durch Entfernen und/oder neues Hinzufügen immer aktuell halten.
-Events im Partyguide-WhatUp
Hast du dir einen Club oder eine andere Location als Favorit gespeichert, erhältst du Push-Benachrichtigungen über dort geplante Veranstaltungen und Events. So bist du immer up to date, was in nächster Zeit angesagt ist und wo gefeiert werden kann. Wenn dir das Event gefällt und du dort feiern willst, kannst du deine Teilnahme unverbindlich zusagen. Dann kannst du auch das Verhältnis sehen, wie viele Mädels und Jungs schon zugesagt haben und die Party oder Veranstaltung besuchen werden.
-Chat im Partyguide-WhatUp
Du kannst vor dem Feiern schon sehen, wer noch zugesagt hat und über die Chat-Funktion im Partyguide-WhatUp mit deinen Freunden oder auch interessanten neuen Leuten chatten und für den Abend planen. Oder nach einem Event jemandem schreiben, bei dem sich während dem Feiern keine Möglichkeit ergeben hat, Kontakt aufzunehmen.
-Profil im Partyguide-WhatUp
Nach der Anmeldung in der App kannst du dein Profil erstellen. Neben persönlichen Angaben kann auch ein Profilbild hochgeladen werden. Im Profil hast du auch immer im Blick, welchen kommenden Veranstaltungen du zugesagt und an welchen Events du in letzter Zeit teilgenommen hast.
-Benachrichtigungen im Partyguide-WhatUp
Erhaltene Push-Benachrichtigungen kannst du in der App unter „Benachrichtigungen“ sehen. Wenn du dort eine Benachrichtigung anklickst, werden dir alle Infos zu dem geplanten Event angezeigt.
-Zugang für Gastronomen im Partyguide-WhatUp
Für Gastronomen, die sich über WhatUp einloggen, gibt es eine Vielzahl an Möglichkeiten, ihre Location mit den Veranstaltungen und Events zu präsentieren und mit entsprechender Werbung feierwütige Partypeople einzuladen. Alle Schritte und Möglichkeiten werden nach dem Login als Gastronom übersichtlich beschrieben.
