This is a application written in part of a graduate research project to determine the usefulness of Androidbased Smartphones in distributed computing experiments.By installing this application, you will be contributing to this study ending late 2012.At the end of the study, I will push out an update which will stop the app from generating more data.Once installed, this application will monitor your charge cycle of your phone to determine what of the time a phone is fully charged and not in use.While your phone is fully charged and not in use, the application will also perform multiple linpack based tests to determine the MFLOPS performance level of your phone.Along with the Phone type and OS version, the above information will be anonymously collected for the purpose of research.By default, communication is only done over wifi connections during the phase when phone is not in use.Having this application installed should not interfere with normal use of phone.Usage:program works automatically once installed, but has an activity for debugging purposes.Quick MFLOP test: Allows you to perform example tests to determine MFLOPS calculation ability of your phone.Method 1 is a Java based Linpack testMethod 2 is a C based NDK version of Method 1Method 3 is a different version of the C based Linpack testTesting report :These buttons will report back to you the statistical information gathered from your phone.Other options:Enable Application Allows app to run during charge cycleDisable Application Prevents app from running during charge cycleForcestart Processing Service starts a background service which performs MFLOPS calculation testingForcestop Processing Service Stops the background service if it is runningForcesend pending messages Sends any statistical data back to the server that is pending transmission.
