SMU TA$Ker is an experimental mobile crowdsourcing App built by Singapore Management University (SMU). The App allows SMU undergraduate students to perform location specific campus oriented tasks (such as "reporting on the cleanliness of restrooms”, “verifying the availability of specific drinks in a vending machine” and “validating the crowdedness of study areas”) in return for micro rewards.
SMU TA$Ker is designed to support the set of behavioural research and allow SMU researchers to better understand consumer attitudes and behaviours with respect to mobile crowdsourcing, including the types of tasks they prefer, the overheads (in terms of travel detours) that they are willing to incur and the rewards/incentives that they prefer.
