*What is our Mission?
WiseTummy.com is a platform to help the health conscious consumer understand packaged foods better. Research states that nearly six-in-ten (59%) consumers around the world have difficulty understanding nutritional facts on food packaging, with 52% understanding the labels “in part”, 41% “mostly” understand nutrition label and 7% say that they do not understand nutrition label at all. We, at WiseTummy.com, seek to bridge this gap. We make it simpler for consumers to understand food labels, by comprehensively analysing the label using our in-house developed algorithm and converting it into a simple rating of ‘poor/average/good/excellent’. This helps a consumer take a real – time purchase decision of a relatively healthier packaged food product - easy and quick.
WiseTummy.com is a platform which is “of” the consumers, “for” the consumers and as we evolve and keep growing bigger, it will soon be “by the consumers”.
*How do we rate the packaged food products?
The total evaluation process is based on a in-house developed proprietary algorithm that runs across different parameters. To name a few, it involves the quantitative analysis of a product’s disclosed nutrition content and it’s comparison with the peers. It also looks into factors such as the target consumer’s sex, age, lifestyle and Body Mass Index (BMI).
