The Health Informatics Research Group from the University of Mauritius is currently working on a research project entitled “Data Analytics for Real-Time Disease Outbreak Management and Surveillance in Mauritius” funded by the Mauritius Research Council, under the High Performance Computing Research and Innovation Grant (HPC-RIG) scheme, in collaboration with IBM (Mauritius) Ltd.
The purpose of this research project is to investigate about a real-time infectious disease detection and surveillance model that will use data from different sources including crowdsourcing mobile applications and healthcare institutions amongst other. Therefore this mobile application can be very useful for early detection and prediction of seasonal disease outbreaks in Mauritius. The resulting insights are expected to help facilitate faster response to and preparation for disease outbreaks.
The submission of information is purely voluntary and will strictly be used for this research purpose. We expressly declare that the information submitted will not be passed on to third parties.
