Dumbbells are pretty universal; you can use them for training almost all important groups of muscles and they are good for both men and women.
Some ladies are hesitant to do dumbbell exercises for arms and shoulders because they are afraid that their arms will lose their feminine shape. This fear is absolutely groundless. To make their arm and shoulder muscles massive, women would have to work out several times harder than men do. If your goal is to simply be more fit and make your body shapelier, you won’t need workouts that intensive.
It may sound weird, but there are not many dumbbell back exercises. The reason is there are many important muscle groups on your back, and most of them can’t be effectively trained using dumbbells only.
On the other hand, chest exercises with dumbbells are perfect for training your chest muscles. Sometimes this kind of exercises is even more effective than power weightlifting.
To do dumbbell leg exercises, it’s better to choose weights no heavier than 1 or 2 kilos (for bigger muscles, use 3-4 kilo weights).
Depending on what kind of goal you want to achieve, you can choose an upper body dumbbell workout (to shape your shoulders, arms and chest muscles) or lower body dumbbell workout . Still, most fitness coaches would recommend to include full body dumbbell workout in your daily routine. It’s worth noting that although such exercises are easy to do at home, it would be better to talk to a professional fitness coach in order to choose a routine that would be optimal for you.
Men’s health dumbbells imply, first of all, building-up your muscles. To do this right, it’s better to see an experienced body building coach. More often than not, women train with dumbbells to lose weight and make their body more fit and attractive. Because of this difference in goals, exercises with weights for women may be different from those designed for men.
